The Challenge

Navigating Europe's Complex Transit Landscape

Navigating Europe's borders requires more than just transportation — it demands precise transit management. Between T1/T2 declarations, complex guarantee requirements, and strict NCTS digital filing deadlines, transit procedures can easily become a bottleneck.

Without expert oversight, these regulatory checkpoints often lead to administrative burdens, unexpected costs, and costly delivery delays. Winz Logistics keeps your supply chain in motion by eliminating the friction of border crossings.

The Cost of Transit Delays

Administrative bottlenecks at border checkpoints don't just cost time — they cost money. FAQs

Transit Clearance FAQs

What happens if a transit guarantee is invoked?

Customs may initiate recovery when a transit movement is not discharged properly. The principal must prove the goods reached the approved destination or that no customs debt arose.

What is an Authorised Consignee?

An Authorised Consignee can receive transit goods at approved premises without presenting each movement to the customs office, following approved NCTS procedures.

What is an Authorised Consignor?

An Authorised Consignor can start approved transit movements from their premises without presenting each consignment at the customs office of departure.

Does a T1 replace an export declaration?

No. A T1 monitors goods movement under transit. An export declaration places Union goods under the export procedure to confirm their departure from EU territory.

How does AEO status affect transit guarantees?

AEO status supports applications for simplifications and guarantee waivers/reductions, though customs still assess compliance history and financial standing.

What is the difference between transit and bonded warehousing?

Transit covers supervised movement from one point to another. Bonded warehousing covers supervised storage while duties and taxes remain suspended.

Which countries accept Belgian NCTS transit movements?

All EU Member States and Common Transit Convention members, including EFTA countries, Turkey, the UK, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia.

What happens when an MRN remains open in NCTS?

The office of departure will initiate an enquiry if destination results are not received within deadlines. The holder must provide proof of arrival promptly to prevent guarantee claims.
